Narrative of the Young Shepherd

At the center of the captivating rolling meadows, lived a young shepherd. His life was mostly pure, and unsophisticated. His primary duty was mainly to tend to his flock of ewes.
Their gentle baas and the murmuring of the breezes across the lone tree on the peak were his main associates. Day after day, watching over his responsibilities imbued in him a sense of tranquil contentment.
Yet, there were occasional moments of solitude, when the shepherd boy would yearn for fellowship. During one such occasion from sheer boredom, the shepherd boy conceived a troublesome scheme.
Tales of wolves prowling on sheep had long been circulating in the hamlet. So, the boy decided to leveraged this fear and played a joke on the villagers.
One morning he dashed into the village yelling “Wolf! There is a wolf that has taken my sheep!” The frightened villagers ran up the hills for rescue but discovered no wolf.
The boy chuckled at the confusion on their faces. This game laughed for a few more days. Yet, one noon, a real wolf actually charge at the grazing sheep. The shepherd boy dashed for help, screaming “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one showed up.
Frustrated and alone, the boy struggled against the wolf but could rescue only few of his sheep. Heartbroken, he returned to the village only to receive a reprimand on honesty and the repercussions of dishonesty.
His tale of this shepherd boy has been transmitted generations as a mediaeval parable to teaching the value of honesty, the implications of dishonesty and the dangers of false alarms. Moreover, it stresses how trust once broken, is hard to regain. It's a story website as appropriate today as it was then.
